On February 17, 2022, the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Sultanov, paid a working visit to the Panfilov district of the Almaty region with the Mayor of Almaty region, Kanat Bozumbayev.

During the visit, the delegation visited the border crossing point at the Kazakh-Chinese border Nur Zholy, SEZ Khorgos-Eastern Gate, and SEZ ICBC Khorgos. Acting Chairman of the Management Board of MC SEZ ICBC Khorgos JSC Yerlan Zhailaubay presented the interstate project ICBC Khorgos and introduced the activities of SEZ, particularly its trade and economic and investment development. The delegates visited the investment zone of the SEZ and got acquainted with a logistics project for handling container transit cargo from the Chinese part of the ICBC to the Kazakhstan’s part.

Also, the workshop discussed the concept of cross-border hub development, including further development of the Khorgos hub.
