Congratulations to the team of ICBC “Khorgos” on the day of formation and we wish you success in achieving your goals!

The creation of the ICBC “Khorgos” was initiated by the heads of state of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China in 2002.

On September 24, 2004, in the city of Ghulja, a Framework Agreement was concluded between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the establishment of the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation.

And already on July 4, 2005, in Astana, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on regulating the activities of the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation.

On September 13, the company ICBC Khorgos JSC was established, which acts as the operator for the implementation of this international project.

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 6, 2017, a special economic zone “International Center for Border Cooperation “Khorgos” was created, which included the territory of the Kazakhstani part of the ICBC. And on May 29, 2019, the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan JSC “ICBC “Khorgos” was determined by the management SEZ “ICBC “Khorgos”.
